In 1953, Rowan Christian Fellowship was founded as the "Glassboro State Christian Fellowship" Imageat a time when Rowan University was known as Glassboro State College. As the fellowship began to form, a campus staff would meet with the fellowship regularly to assist in the quality and growth of the newly-founded organization. With the help of this campus staff, Glassboro State Christian Fellowship had grown to 50-60 members through the 1960s.

After a sharp decline to 14 members by 1975, Dave Bearry was called in to reorganize and maintain GSCF. By 1977, with God's grace and help, the fellowship had grown to 75 members. Fifteen students had, in fact, received Jesus as their personal savior in that single year.

Through the 1980s, Glassboro State Christian Fellowship began new organizational strategies that would significantly improve the quality of fellowship meetings and events. The group began to invite students to use their individual talents and abilities to serve the Lord by assuming leadership roles. As fellowship members began to use their God-given talents to help in the growth of GSCF, the fellowship's outreach events and weekly meetings grew in excellence. Some students had even reported that the fellowship's large weekly group meeting was the best meeting that they had attended in their lives.

These weekly meetings and outreach oppurtunities continued to influence the campus during the 1990's, as Glassboro State Christian Fellowship was changed to Rowan Christian Fellowship.

And now, as Rowan Christian Fellowship pushes forward in its mission to reach the RowanImage University campus, the Lord continues to bless the fellowship with excellent weekly meetings, great outreach programs, and a wonderful group of devoted students. Rowan Christian Fellowship still continues to focus on the individual personalities and talents of individual members to strengthen the quality of the fellowship and to help students to grow in their relationship with the Lord and with their fellow peers.
